Director

Professor Oluwatoyin T. Ogundipe, FAS

Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe is a distinguished Nigerian academic, botanist, and university administrator. A Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science, he is recognised for his wide-ranging contributions to botanical science, research leadership, and higher education development in Nigeria and beyond.

He obtained his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees in Botany from Obafemi Awolowo University and later earned an MBA from the University of Lagos. His career includes leadership roles as Director of Academic Planning and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research), and he served as the 12th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos.

His research interests span plant taxonomy, biosystematics, molecular biology, forensic botany, ecology, and conservation biology, and his scholarship continues to shape academic and policy discourse in the sciences.

Deputy Director

Professor Adebayo L. Ogunkanmi

Professor Adebayo Liasu Ogunkanmi is a celebrated Nigerian academic, geneticist, and scholar whose work has strengthened the teaching and practice of cell biology, genetics, and applied biological sciences.

He holds degrees in Biological Sciences, Genetics, and Cell Biology from the University of Ilorin and the University of Ibadan, and he has built a distinguished academic profile through research, teaching, postgraduate supervision, and institutional governance.

Beyond the classroom, Professor Ogunkanmi has contributed to curriculum development, academic planning, and committee leadership at the University of Lagos, reinforcing his reputation as a mentor and academic administrator.

Dr. Okwong Walter

Dr. Okwong Walter is a Research Fellow at TCEBCEM whose work focuses on environmental evidence synthesis, climate resilience, ecosystem management, sustainability strategy, and policy engagement.

He has built strong expertise in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, ESG frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development practice. His work bridges scientific research and implementation to support measurable environmental outcomes in Africa and beyond.

Dr. Walter is an active member of several professional networks and scientific associations, reflecting his commitment to collaborative and evidence-based environmental governance.

Research Fellow

Bolarinwa Khadeejah Subair

Bolarinwa Khadeejah Subair is a research scholar whose expertise spans botany, phytochemistry, ethnobotany, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation.

She holds a B.Sc. in Botany from the University of Lagos, an M.Sc. in Pharmacognosy from the University of Ibadan, and a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Lagos. Her work is anchored in conservation, ecosystem management, and the application of traditional knowledge in sustainable development.

She is a member of professional bodies including the Botanical Society of Nigeria and the Nigerian Conservation Foundation, and she continues to contribute to research and public engagement around biodiversity and environmental resilience.
